Builders need defined scope and dependable coordination. Architects and designers need clear requirements for space, finishes and access. We bring those decisions together for home automation, lighting control, motorized shades, audio/video, networking and surveillance cameras.

Naples Top Tech coordinates home technology with the plans, trades and construction schedule so the wiring, equipment and controls fit the finished home.
When should technology planning begin?
Bring us in while the architectural, electrical and interior plans are still being coordinated. This is the time to identify equipment locations, cable routes, control positions and the interfaces between trades.
Pre-wire is a construction milestone. The approved layout needs to be ready before the relevant wiring routes are covered. A late decision about a shade pocket, ceiling speaker or wall-mounted display can affect more than one trade.
What do we review in the plans?
We review the drawings and schedules that affect the proposed technology. These include floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, electrical and lighting layouts, window details, cabinetry and outdoor living areas.
The review focuses on practical decisions:
- Where will TVs, speakers, cameras, access points, keypads and touchscreens go?
- Which lighting fixtures and drivers need control, and how will they dim or switch?
- Where do shades need power, mounting support, pockets and service access?
- Where will equipment live, and how will it receive power, ventilation and cable access?
- Which routes and spare pathways should be prepared for agreed future work?
The exact fixture, driver and control combination matters. A dimmable fixture still needs a compatible control method and suitable wiring.
How do we coordinate with the electrician?
The plans and proposal identify who supplies, installs, connects and programs each component. NTT's low-voltage and integration scope is coordinated with the electrician's scope for branch circuits, lighting loads, equipment power and other electrical connections.
For lighting control, the team needs an agreed load schedule and control layout. For shades, the selected motor and power arrangement determine the electrical and low-voltage requirements. Those decisions should be resolved before rough-in, with later substitutions reviewed for compatibility.
What belongs in the low-voltage scope?
The scope describes cable types, device locations, connection points and the equipment those connections will support. It also identifies terminations, labels, testing, programming and documentation required for the project.
Network, speaker, camera and control wiring serve different purposes. We select wiring for the specified use and available pathways. Agreed provisions for future expansion are documented so they can be installed and checked before access closes.
How does the work fit the construction schedule?
The sequence follows site readiness and the builder's schedule. These milestones make the dependencies clear.
Equipment ordering follows approved selections and the project schedule. Revisions to drawings, finishes or equipment need a scope and timing review. The latest approved information should reach every affected trade.
How can technology fit the interior design?
Keypad finishes, speaker placement, display positions and shade details belong in the design conversation. Concealed equipment still needs ventilation, cable access and a practical route for service.
Wireless control also needs planning. Lutron RadioRA 3 uses its own radio communication for supported devices, and processor placement must follow the system's design requirements. Removing a control cable from the plan does not remove the need to coordinate power, mounting and coverage.
What changes for coastal and seasonal homes?
Outdoor locations need equipment and installation details suited to their actual exposure. Heat, moisture and salt exposure affect the selection of enclosures, mounting positions and service access.
For seasonal use, discuss the owner's departure and arrival routines during design. Remote access, camera viewing and scheduled lighting depend on the selected equipment and required connections. Identify those needs before the homeowner walkthrough.
What do project teams ask most often?
Can NTT join a project after the plans are finished?
Yes. The first step is to review the current drawings and site conditions. Any missing provisions or proposed changes can then be assessed against the remaining construction work.
Can a designer select the visible controls and shade finishes?
Design preferences are part of the selection process. The exact keypad, shade and mounting details must also suit the chosen control system and installation conditions.
Who approves changes during construction?
The project needs a designated decision-maker and an agreed approval path. Changes to locations, equipment or scope should be documented and shared with the affected trades before the revised work proceeds.
