For a waterfront or canal-side property, we discuss water exposure, salt air and practical equipment locations early. We look for accessible indoor space with ventilation and suitable power. Outdoor cameras, speakers and connections need to suit the actual exposure at their mounting points.
We can include WattBox surge protection and appropriately sized battery backup in the proposed scope. Backup runtime and restart behavior depend on the selected equipment.
We agree on what each room control should do before programming. Plain keypad labels, sensible scenes and a walkthrough help everyone use the house without learning the equipment behind it. We check supported Lutron and Control4 connections before including them in your design.
For a seasonal home, we review supported remote camera viewing, lighting, locks and climate controls with you. Araknis and OvrC can support remote diagnosis on appropriately configured equipment. We explain what is available remotely and which faults may still need a visit or help from your internet provider.

Yes. We review equipment placement, coastal exposure and available wiring before defining the work. Surge protection, suitable battery backup and supported leak alerts can be considered in the agreed scope.
We can configure supported remote access and discuss OvrC management for compatible equipment. Some issues can be diagnosed or addressed remotely; physical faults, power loss and internet interruptions may still require on-site help.
That's a design priority. We agree on clear room names and keypad labels, then walk through the controls with you at handoff.
