Technical planning, programming and coordination for complex technology systems.

Custom Residential Renovation | Naples, Florida

Complex Whole-Home Technology Integration

Naples Top Tech has provided sophisticated technology integration services for an extensive renovation of an approximately 9,500-square-foot waterfront residence in Naples, Florida.

The project scope includes Lutron HomeWorks QSX architectural lighting, Control4 automation, motorized shade infrastructure, distributed audio and video, network systems, security integration, and a specified custom nine-seat home-theater seating package.

NTT’s responsibilities span system design, equipment coordination, specialized programming, installation, troubleshooting, and collaboration with multiple construction trades.

Project highlights

  • Lutron HomeWorks QSX across four centralized lighting enclosures: three with ten four-channel modules each, and a fourth with eight four-channel modules alongside processor and power-supply equipment. The NTT-confirmed configuration provides 152 centralized load channels across 38 modules, plus additional wireless lighting control.
  • Wireless control for foyer and primary-bedroom lay lights and expanded lighting zones, alongside custom keypad engraving, scene programming and wired lighting control.
  • Shade infrastructure expanded to 50 planned wire locations: 44 intended for powered shades and draperies, with six reserved for future use. These are infrastructure quantities, not a commissioned shade count.
  • Control4 automation, in-wall touch interfaces and handheld control, with coordination of compatible lighting, window-treatment and entertainment systems.
  • Whole-home Sonos audio, Sonance invisible-speaker upgrades, architectural and all-weather speakers, and landscape audio with dedicated amplification and subwoofer scope.
  • Media-room scope revised to a 100-inch Samsung display, Marantz CINEMA 40 receiver and Control4 CORE 3 controller; a signed nine-seat Fortress Pantages #930 seating package includes LED accents and Lutron scene integration.
  • Network scope includes two 48-port managed PoE switches, five indoor and one outdoor Wi-Fi access points, a central 42U equipment rack, remotely managed power conditioning and battery backup.
  • Structured prewire proposal specifies 105 Cat6A cable runs, with additional coaxial, speaker, shade and control wiring. Proposed quantities describe the wiring scope rather than a certified final installed inventory.
  • Whole-home prewire planning and coordination, including cable routes, device locations, future provisions and alignment with the construction team.
  • Water-leak detection at 33 locations with an automatic water shutoff valve, as confirmed by NTT’s project lead.
  • Ongoing technical coordination with the builder, electrical contractor, window-treatment specialists, designers, and other trades.

Whole-home prewire planning

NTT’s work includes planning the entire home’s low-voltage prewire, not simply pulling cables. That means coordinating the locations and wiring requirements for entertainment, networking, lighting controls, shades and other connected systems with the homeowner’s priorities and the construction team.

NTT prefers to walk through the home with the homeowner before prewire begins, reviewing how each space will be used, preferred device and control locations, and future needs. Agreeing on those details early helps reduce overlooked requirements and changes after walls and finishes are complete.

Water-leak detection and automatic shutoff

The system includes water-leak detection at 33 locations and an automatic water shutoff valve, confirmed by NTT’s project lead. This adds whole-home water protection to the broader integration scope. Individual sensor locations and operational configuration are kept private.

Lighting at whole-home scale

The lighting system extends well beyond a single expansion order. Its four-enclosure configuration provides 120 centralized channels in three panels and another 32 in the fourth, for a total capacity of 152. Additional wireless loads sit outside that centralized channel count. Channel capacity is distinct from the number of connected, active or commissioned loads.

An earlier change order added 24 lighting and exhaust-fan loads and another enclosure. That figure described an increment to the system, not its total size. The current panel configuration above reflects the NTT project lead’s direct confirmation; the proposals alone do not establish the final connected-load inventory.

Shade power and integration planning

The revised shade scope called for four ten-output Lutron power panels, inter-panel communication and coordination with the window-treatment specialist. Planning for 44 powered shade and drapery positions required checking power capacity, motor requirements and wiring, with additional power provision to be resolved where needed. NTT’s scope also covers control integration, limit-setting coordination and functional testing. The power-panel output count should not be read as proof that all 44 positions were powered or commissioned.

Audio, theater and network coordination

The audio design spans interior listening areas and outdoor entertainment, with later changes replacing conventional speakers with concealed Sonance models and adapting wiring to architectural finishes. The media-room display upgrade and custom motorized seating package add coordination of room readiness, equipment delivery, seating layout, low-voltage LED wiring and lighting scenes.

The network and rack scope supports these systems together: managed switching, indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi, structured cabling, equipment ventilation, power management and remote support. Those disciplines are part of the integration work, alongside programming the controls people use every day.

What makes this project technically demanding

Large-scale residential technology integration requires more than selecting compatible equipment. Lighting loads, control processors, shade power requirements, audio systems, network infrastructure, and architectural finishes must be coordinated across different manufacturers and installation teams.

Changes made during construction require updated system designs, equipment selections, programming, and testing procedures.

Naples Top Tech brings together computer networking, automation programming, low-voltage installation, and multi-system integration to support these requirements.

Our role extends beyond product installation to technical problem-solving, system coordination, customization, and long-term support.

Project status and scope

The four lighting enclosures, 38-module configuration, additional wireless lighting, whole-home prewire planning and 33 water-leak detection locations with automatic shutoff reflect the NTT project lead’s direct confirmation. Other quantities and equipment above describe reviewed proposals, revisions and the signed seating package; they are identified as scope rather than proof of completed installation. Final connected-load counts, shade commissioning, seating installation and individual subsystem completion remain subject to verification.
